What are reeding and fluting?

REEDING AND FLUTING: Both are types of ornamental carving.  Think convex (out) for reeding and concave (in) for fluting.  

Reeding consists of rounded convex ridges similar to gadrooning.  Fluting consists of concave channels or grooves.
